Looking for an old buddy, family member or coworker? How about just looking for a celebrity for fun? While a growing number of individuals are finding their way to Facebook, not everyone has a Facebook or even a MySpace profile.
While privacy is always a concern, I’ve identified four of the absolute best free tools to search for people or even yourself. Knowing what information about you or family members that’s public on the internet can help you to erase your tracks.
While not all information that the tools below finds is tied to you, it’s surprising and a bit scary how much information the sites below found during my test searches. For the first two examples, I used Jessica Alba.
The first two entries are easily the best, while Spock and ZabaSearch provides some alternate options.
123 People gives users the ability to conduct real-time searches of people you specify by retrieving images, videos, phone numbers, email addresses, social network profiles and more. 123people uses data from international and regional sources. Users can add information to each search result to improve relevance, adding details.
Pipl searches the deep web, which is “500 times that of the surface web.” Pipl utilizes personal profiles, databases and public record that typically doesn’t appear on typical web searches.
Zabasearch uses public record sources to retrieve people searches, which include change of address records, multiple addresses, phone numbers and other data. Most information found from Zabasearch was entered by users from various sources around the internet.
Spock gives you the ability to search by name, email, company or even school. You can find contact information, email addresses and social network profiles such as Facebook and MySpace.
