Good morning! It’s Saturday and time for my favorite post, that lets me share the current Top 10 Free BlackBerry Apps each week. The listing is  taken directly from my BlackBerry, via the top 10 downloads on BlackBerry App World.  Last week’s Top 10 was highlighted by the new (#2) BlackBerry Messenger upgrade, while this week is much the same.

We have a few new arrivals to the top 10 in (#10) HippoMobile and (#6) WHERE.  As you’ll see, recent version upgrades have catapulted a few Apps into our top 3.  Let’s take a look at this week’s  Top 10 Free BlackBerry Apps as of October 17, 2009. Though the buzz surrounds the Facebook Version upgrade, the Facebook iPhone App is far superior. The upgrade won’t bring me back, since I’m currently satisfied with SocialScope and Snaptu. The BlackBerry Messenger upgrade we saw last week is again dominating the list, deservedly so. WeatherEye is the only App that’s made the top 10 in each of the 10 weekly listings I’ve completed.

I’m very excited about HippoMobile! You can select a photo, then have an actual postcard with the photo and a message mailed (not e-mailed) to family, friends, etc. You can mail 2 free postcards a day and it takes about 7-10 days for them to receive the postcard. WHERE is a notable App, that’s been around but missed the top 10 each week until this week. It’s definitely worth a download, but I prefer Poynt for Local Search Utilities.
