We all have the funny or embarrassing yearbook photo from back in the day. If not, Yearbook Yourself 2009 has you covered….and then some. Yearbook Yourself is a free site that doesn’t require login. It works by giving you the tools to upload a photo or multiple photos. Once your photos are uploaded, then the fun begins. You can choose a profile from 1950 to 2000, insert your photo, then flip it, rotate it, scale it and use other tools to give it the perfect fit within the photo.

There are two primary albums to use, Student Photos and Student Life. Student Photos are the lineup of photos you’d expect from any yearbook, with a wicked hairstyle and outfit for each year. To give you a taste of what you can do with this entertaining site, take a look at the yearbook photo I created for the year 1980. For this example, Brad Pitt was the chosen one since everyone knows who he is and he recently was the best character in one of my favorite movies, Inglourious Basterds. I captured the “change image” functions so you can see the various ways to manipulate your photo to give it the perfect fit within the photo.

Student life is those action-type photos you find in yearbooks. The photos are from 1954 all the way to 1986. This section is great for creating a funny group photo of coworkers, friends, family, etc. You may recognize Brad Pitt at the top in the center. This photo is 1974.

So, I did quite a bit of playing around with the site and loved it so much, I ended up making a photo of my ugly mug for just about every year. Not being afraid to poke a little fun at myself, here’s my collection with the last photo being one from Student Life.

As you can see, this site is packed with time-wasting entertainment. For me, it’s perfect to have fun with coworkers and friends. Actually, I first learned about this site from a coworker, who used the Student Life section to perfection to capture our coworkers in hilarious group photos. Another useful aspect of this site is its integration with Facebook. You can simply click on the upload to Facebook button to have your photo uploaded to your profile. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I have.

If you like this site, you may want to check out the Facebook Yourself 2009 iPhone App. It’s $0.99 at iTunes, but is rated 4 stars and looks to have most of the same functionality as the main site. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sold. I’ll provide a review of the iPhone App in a future post.
