I've had great success with Slacker Radio as well. My service of choice is Pandora, mainly because it's everywhere on just about every platform. I use it on my pc, Android and iPad with very few problems.

I saved $360 by canceling xm. I rarely miss it thanks to my podcasts, local radio and pandora. The only show I miss is Opie and Anthony which I was picking up on my android app xialive, but no luck lately.

Hi James, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Anyways, I love SLACKER RADIO.app on my iPhone. I use it almost EVERYDAY at work. My Dad uses a Sirius Radio in his Truck as he Drives Everyday for FedEx from MO to OK. He Tried the iPhone app for the Sirius XM SkyDock and after purchasing the Sirius SkyDock and the Salesman explaining that it would work with either Sirius or XM Satellite accounts. After getting it home and trying to activate it through the iphone app and not being able to do so, I then called Sirius and they tried to activate it... Long story short I was on the phone with them for over an hour & thirty minutes and come to find out it only works with the XM Satellite accounts… then the rep explained if we activated the Best of XM it would work then… of course for an extra fee!
Oh well, SLACKER RADIO IS GREAT! I used it before the iPhone on the iMac and love it!
I SHOULD TELL YOU, at college which is were I work is a Microsoft based institute and there are Thousands of Windows Pc's throughout and I have used Slacker Computer based streaming service for a very long time without any trouble. Within the last month I was using the Web based service on a Windows XP computer and two of the classrooms I used it in got some kind of Virus from www.Slacker.com
In Slackers Defense it wasn't them who sent the virus. One of the Ads within Slacker using Java I believe was able to send an Active X control and there wasn't an option to even close the pop-up. Meaning if you clicked on it anywhere you ultimately agreed to install Active X... But that's WINDOWS For ya. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU ON A WINDOWS Using XP, VISTA or Win.7 My advise would be Unplug your either net cable or wifi card and after that do a Hard Restart of your computer. Unplug it or Power it off causing the lose of all power including the battery if using a Laptop or battery backup.
OTHER THAN Being a WINDOWS User SLACKER IS AWESOME!
I now only use it on my iMAC or my iPHONE.

I agree with your Statement about "Commercial Free Satellite Radio." This is False advertisement and how they haven't gotten sued for this is rather puzzling to me… but I'm not an attorney so I'll leave that up to someone else. I have the same situation as you. $300 plus per year is just too expensive with all the free and cheap options available. I've had an audio cable installed in my dashboard (Bestbuy installed) and I use Pandora and my iPod and I'm covered.

I think Sirius kinda screwed themselves with the Howard Stern contract. The business model is bad and I don't think we'll see Satellite Radio after 2 or 3 years. I think they need to decrease their prices, but not sure if they can afford to do so. I think the ship is sinking. Great comments!

Robert,

Thanks so much for your comments! isPermaLink="false">http://www.eazycheezy.net/?p=899#comment-5272

Regardless of a users choice in stations, the issue here is cost. $12.95 for a month is no big deal, but not if you have more than one XM capable vehicle. In our house, my wife has her vehicle, and that's another $98.00 yearly. Our Honda GoldWing has XM, and that's another $98.00 yearly, even though it's ridden probably 6 months a year. Years ago, I never thought anyone would pay for bottled water, but paying about $350 yearly for 3 vehicles to listen to radio is a bit ridiculous. In addition, when you figure how much "actual" time is used in listening to the radio, vs just having it sit in vehicles that only get used for work, and occasional use, and the per hour listening cost is extremely expensive. A lot of family's who had this in their vehicles no doubt canceled the service when the economy tanked.
What XM needs is a reevaluation of it's pricing plans. They give you a $50/year discount for multiple radios, but that's not enough. They need "smart" radios, and pricing plans that involve listening hours, not yearly based subscriptions. You pay for the time you listen. If you buy a block of 500 hours, that's divided among how ever many radios is listed in your "subscription". If your vehicle sits in your driveway most of the time, you're not burning up your radio subscription time. In our case, if the MC sits in the garage for 6 months, and actual riding time is probably 1 month, that's what you'll pay for.
Very similar to the phone plans used for Netbooks and data usage.
Just my $0.02.

Regardless of a users choice in stations, the issue here is cost. $12.95 for a month is no big deal, but not if you have more than one XM capable vehicle. I usually watch movies with genre Horror, Thriller, Action & Sci-Fi. Last night I came across two websites where i can watch all latest online movies in a great quality. These sites have 3000+ movies and i guess its is frequently updated. So everytime when i login I see a new movie in the list.
Let me share those sites with you, I hope you will enjoy. http://online-movies.cona.in
Another, awesome website to watch latest & classic adult, sexy & erotic movies streaming free in dvd quality. No porn. It has a huge list of adult movies for free to watch.
