I’ve been quite curious about Affiliate Marketing for quite some time. In the last few months, I’ve turned down multiple Affiliate Program offers in favor of sticking with good old Google AdSense. However, recently my curiousity is getting the best of me and I’m now moving away from Google AdSense to experiment with other programs. Thus far, I’ve tried AdSense, Widgetbucks, Chikita, pepperjamNETWORK and just signed up for Amazon Associates and Commission Junction. I haven’t made any money with any of the programs (minus AdSense), but haven’t tried to push products or splatter the site with annoying ads. I’m instead attempting to get some familiarity and knowledge of how each work. If I find one I love, I may move forward with the program permanently, but it’s all just experimental at this point.
Below, you’ll find some resources I’ve collected and put together to provide some Affiliate Program options and tools for those interested in going the Affiliate Program route.
Some Popular Affiliate Programs
Commission Junction – One of the largest and most popular of the many Affiliate Programs available. They enable you to promote quite a variety of products in several different categories. Different programs available that pay-per-lead and pay-per-sale.
AzoogleAds – Offers several different options for products to advertise and various options for the methods used to promote.
Amazon Affiliates – Promote Amazon Products with banners, links, widgets or an embedded Amazon Store Space on your site.
Clickbank - Promote electronic downloadable products, such as e-Books.
pepperjamNETWORK – A newer Affiliate Network, but one that is quickly rising in popularity and growth.
Threads Worth Reading
Occasionally you’ll find some unbelievable threads from those who have had success and like to share their tips and information. I wanted to point out a few threads that can be quite valuable. I too would like to share these threads I’ve come across. Follow Me to $100 a day in AdSense Using 1 Blog and Step-By-Step PPC Advice for Newbies were both outstanding discussions full of great tips.
Helpful Community Forums
Digital Point Forums – Outstanding sub-forums for various affiliate marketing sites. You’ll find seperate forums for Commission Junction, Azoogle, Amazon, Clickbank and Chikita or the primary Affiliate Marketing forum. There’s a wealth of knowledge within these forums.
SitePoint Forums – Discussion area dedicated to Advertising and Affiliate Programs. Contains an AdSense Sub-forum and plenty of helpful information to chew on.
Web-Master Talk Forums – Affiliate Program community forum with no sub-forums, but some great discussion on various Affiliate Programs and options.
