Have you found any interesting bookmarks lately? Here’s my favorite bookmarks of the week. You’ll find everything from a 1981 news report, a newsmap, an extensive freeware listing, website grader, etc. I hope you enjoy. This is a weekly series that I use sites such as Delicious, pupurls, Twitter, Digg & Stumbled Upon to discover and publish my favorite bookmarks.

1. You Need to See This (1981 Report of Birth of Internet News) (techcrunch.com) – Check out this very intriguing video that predicted the future of internet news.

2. 140 Characters: How Twitter Was Born (140characters.com) – Story of how Twitter grew up and was implemented. Very interesting.

3. Top 20 Social Networks of 2008 (mashable.com) – Nielson Online report that details the social network rankings & statistics and trends. Who do you think is number 1?

4. NewsMap (marumushi.com/apps/newsmap/newsmap.cfm) – A rich, graphical display of news that’s happening right now in the world. Awesome!

5. 72 Programs for a Freeware Only PC (freewaremission.com) – This listing is very cool. It chooses the BEST free tool for 72 different categories. Firewall, Audio Converter, DVD Ripper, RSS Reader, & so many more.

6. 5 Fast, Easy Ways to Make Your Website Mobile (& 1 Reason You May Not Want To) (socialmediaexplorer.com) – I used this article to help make a mobile-friendly version of Eazy Cheezy. I chose to use Mippin. Check out how to get the mobile-friendly version of Eazy Cheezy.

7. Website Marketing SEO Score Tool (website.grader.com) This tool is very cool. It gives your site a score that incorporates things like website traffic, SEO, social popularity and other technical factors. It also provides some basic advice on how the website can be improved from a marketing perspective. My grade was an 80.

8. LittleBigWorkshop – Create your own video, artwork or wallpaper. Playstation 3 will be releasing a game called LittleBigPlanet & LittleBigWorkshop enables you to plan your creations with special tools, show off and demonstrate your work.

9. GTD Toolbox: 100+ Resources for Getting Things Done (mashable.com) – If you want some tools and apps to help you get more organized and be more productive, look no further.

10. 5 Best People Search Engines (lifehacker.com) – Whether you need to locate someone or you’re just nosy, these 5 tools will help.
