Since Eazy Cheezy was established in September 2008, I’ve utilized a full range of free Internet marketing strategies, focusing primarily on social networking. I’ve been very hesitant in spending money and until last week, my only expense had been moving Eazy Cheezy to a domain.
A few week ago, I joined Blog Catalog. By engaging with other like-minded bloggers, I had the privilege of learning about and keeping current on the latest blogger buzz. The subject of this post was prompted by reading an outstanding discussion on Blogertize, which prompted me to further research this new start-up. After conducting further research, I made the decision to purchase my Advertising Space for $15. With this purchase, my logo & link will be displayed on Blogertize for a period of 3 years.
What is Blogertize?
Blogertize launched September 1st, 2008. They offer advertising space in the form of pixel buttons to bloggers, rather than large corporations. If you purchase adspace, your logo and link will be displayed in your target category for a period of 3 years. Price of pixel buttons are dependent upon location and size of the adspace. The innovative Blogertize business model is a combination of affiliate marketing, promotional quizzing, pixel advertising, e-commerce and social networking.
Potential Return for Your Adspace Purchase
Traffic - The more traffic Blogertize gets, the more potential you have for a visitor seeing your link/logo and clicking it to check out your site. 280 blogger’s logos will be displayed in each category.
Commission – Commission with Blogertize is tied directly to the shopping portal, which opens April, 2009. By displaying the Blogertize shopping portal link on your blog, any visitors who clicks the link & makes a product purchase will make up to 75% of the profit Blogertize made.
Newsletter Content – Bloggers advertising with Blogertize will makeup the content of the Blogertize Newsletter. If content from your blog was extracted, your link will also be mentioned in their Newsletter.
Blogertize Future Plans
Blogertize recently launched a community forum on November 20th, 2008. They will launch an online shopping portal April 1st, 2009. This is also the same date your purchased pixels will be displayed. Blogertize will feature daily/weekly quizzes and contests for visitors. Prizes will include laptops, home theaters, vacations, etc.
How Does it Work?
You purchase pixel block(s) to advertise your site. The blocks are divided into 4 different price sections. Once you purchase adspace and are approved, you’ll need to link Blogertize to your site. Starting April 1st, 2009, your ad will be displayed for a period of 3 years.
How Much Does it Cost?
Pixel price is based upon adspace location. You can also refer to their price chart.
- Blue Pixel Buttons (2000) – $15 for 3 years
- Green Pixel Buttons (4000) – $40 for 3 years
- Yellow Pixel Buttons (6000) – $80 for 3 years
- Red Pixel Buttons (8000) – $150 for 3 years
Note: All prices will be increasing significantly after January 31st.
How to Get Started
1. Choose a Category – Sports Center, Techie’s Corner, Health & Fitness, etc.
2. Pick an available pixel from their pixelated page
3. Upload your logo.
4. Input your URL, Title of your Blog and e-mail address.
5. Pay using credit card, paypal, etc.
6. Link to Blogertize on your Blog
My Thoughts
I’m normally hesitant about start-up advertising sites, but I am intrigued with their business model & really have hopes that it’s going to blow up. I may purchase an additional space prior to the increase on January 31st. I chose to purchase the cheapest section of adspace for $15. Having my link and logo displayed on a site for 3 years should definitely bring in some additional visitors and give Eazy Cheezy more exposure. I will display the Blogertize link as required, but will not try to push visitors to the shopping portal. That isn’t my intention for using Blogertize or my site. If I get commission from any sales, that will just be a bonus.
The forums are just over a month old and they already have 112 members and 320 posts. Blogertize has achieved an Alexa Ranking of 403,000 in just 4 months, which is remarkable considering the community forums wasn’t established until November 20th. Blogertize also achieved over 1000 bloggers who purchased adspace within their first 3 months.
Have any of you purchased Adspace with Blogertize? Any thoughts on the business model? As always, I’d love to hear from you.
