A few days ago, I was in search for new widgets, when I stumbled across Blog Catalog. Not only did Blog Catalog have the Cool Widgets I was in search of, but it turned out to be a very fun & engaging community of bloggers sharing with other bloggers. In just a few days, I’ve already found some great new blog-buddies, helpful information & sites I love.
For those who haven’t heard of it, Blog Catalog is a free social networking service that allows you to submit your blogs & create a your profile. You can find like-minded individuals & communicate, rate their blogs, favorite & further network with them.
Within Blog Catalog, I’ve joined some very helpful groups, such as Blog Promotion, Technorati, Blogging Money & Traffic & Social Network Groups.
I have found most bloggers to be very helpful and willing to assist. Vyasraj1 from Cars On rOll offered to review any blogs & gave me a very helpful and honest personal review, which has only helped me to improve my site. Below is the review;
Hi friend, I like the template for your blog. The footer is the best part. For you I have the following suggestions :-- the subscription link at the top is not looking good. Place a simple subscription link in the sidebar and your blog would move up.
- you can put the ad link (not banner, just the initial ad link at top) in the gray portion just below the header “easy cheezy”.
- the many links below header “easy cheezy” are also not looking good. Please try rearranging them or replacing them.
- now comes your sidebar, you have the subscription link at the top. That is good. You need to add some useful widgets like : popular pots, top commenters, recent comments. These widgets increase interactivity with the visitors. So, try adding them. You can visit my blog to get the “useful widgets”
At last I think you need to add your blog to various directories and index your blog to popular search engines. I think my suggestions help you improve your blog. All the best.
If you decide to join, please do visit my profile and we can further network and communicate. I think you’ll enjoy it, just as I have.
