I admit that I’m inpatient at times and easily get a bit restless. Sometimes when I attempt to get started with a new book, my mind has a habit of wondering and thinking about other things I want to do for the day. I think I may have found a solution for me and others who either don’t have the time or patience to sit down and read a book for an hour or so.
DailyLit provides several book choices, 700 of which are free. Many other books are also free to try. Once you sign up, find a book you like, then you can receive easy to read chunks of the book by either e-mail or RSS. You can choose to receive installments each day, every other day, or once a week. Each book displays the number of installments and the price. I’ll be using the free ones. You can read each installment within 5 minutes and if you want more, you can get additional installments on demand.
You can search by author, title or category. Once you register, you have the option of creating a profile and loading an avatar. The site includes a rating system and a forum. You can manage your books by creating book lists (i.e. To Read, Favorites, Read, etc.). You can also check out what other readers are reading and even add a DailyLit Book Roll to your blog.
