LinkedIn is a powerful online professional networking tool that enables you connect with colleagues, friends or other professional contacts. It’s also a way to network when looking for a job, new business opportunities, etc. Just a few days ago, they added some great tools that can make your LinkedIn experience even better.
1. SlideShare Presentation – Slideshare enables you to add presentations to your LinkedIn profile and to also view presentations from those in your network. Some possible uses could be to share your resume, portfolio, etc. It allows you to upload up to 100 MB files. Files supported are ppt, pdf, odp and doc. If you use SlideShare already, you can import your existing presentations into your LinkedIn profile.
2. Huddle Workspaces – Huddle Workspaces is a secure collaboration and project tool that can provide the following.
- Collaborate with unlimited connections by private workspaces, document sharing, discussions, etc.
- Banish e-mail threads by using discussion forums.
- Manage documents, start to finish. You can create & edit a document or spreadsheet online, add comments to it and request approvals.
- 1 GB of Free storage and file sharing with your network.
- If you already have a Huddle account, you can synchronize it with your LinkedIn Profile.

3. WordPress - This application enables you to sync up your WordPress Blog postings with your LinkedIn profile. You can also filter posts by adding LinkedIn tags. It also gives the ability to display your global avatar. Updates are automagically delivered to your network.
4. Company Buzz – This tool gives you the ability to find trends and comments about your company. You can customize the topics, see historical charts, see the trends and it also allows you to drill down to see the related tweets from Twitter.

5. Blog Link – Blog Link provides the capability to connect your blog to your LinkedIn profile. It’s a way to promote and share your blog posts on LinkedIn. It works by automatically pulling in the latest blog posts from your network. Blog Link supports TypePad, Movable Type, Vox, Wordpress.com, Wordpress.org, Blogger, LiveJournal, etc.

6. Google Presentation – This tool enables you to add your Google Presentations to your LinkedIn profile. Possible uses could be to promote your portfolio, resume, accomplishments, etc. You can get started by uploading a PowerPoint file (ppt) or by using Google’s free application to create your presentation. From there you just post it in your LinkedIn profile.

7. My Travel – This tool gives you the ability to organize your travel details and to see where others in your network are traveling to. Possible uses could be to meet for industry events or meet with others in your network. You can input your current location, upcoming trips and travel stats with your existing network.
8. Reading List by Amazon - This tool let’s you share books you are reading and to see what others in your network are reading.

9. Box.Net Files – This tool gives you storage online and enables you to manage and share files easily and securely for free. You can upload and manage your files from your LinkedIn profile, post additional files, view and edit, and share your files with your LinkedIn Network.
I’m currently using Blog Link, but plan to use Huddle, Company Buzz, Box.Net and either Google Presentations or Slideshare Presentations. I love the new added functionality that these apps bring to LinkedIn. Have you tried any of these apps? If so, let us know what you think about them.
