I love music! Music can bring us memories, motivate us, help us through tough times and even relax us. Previously, I posted 20 great music resources, but have since found many more great sites that I wanted to share. Below, you’ll find 20+ more great music and audio sites.

1. TheSixtyOne – With thesixtyone, artists upload their work for review and you use Digg-like features to decide what’s good. The top songs display on the homepage where you can listen to the most popular songs for any genre. It’s a good way to find new music. You can earn points, get influence level ups, earn badges, etc.

2. Create Digital Music – Create Digital Music is a site for musicians that provides daily news, tips, reviews & features for making digital music. They focus on DIY music making, emerging trends, etc.
3. The Next Big Sound – This site is all about music from unsigned artists. Once you register, you can choose music by category and play the role of a mogul by creating your own label & signing the artists you love. It uses a scoring system as you add artists to your label. When the artists becomes more popular, your point value will continue to grow. It’s kind of like a Fantasy type game with real artists and music.

4. RadioTime – RadioTime provides online streams of terrestrial radio stations. You can find your favorite stations from around the globe or type in your zipcode and listen to all your local radio stations.
5. Wolfgang’s Vault – Wolfgang’s Vault provides free access to thousands of live high quality recordings from some of the best artists, such as Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix and so many more.

6. MTVMusic – As we all know, MTV transformed themselves years ago by tossing the videos for crappy shows such as the Hills. Luckily, MTVMusic sticks with the original MTV concept by sticking with music and high quality videos.

7. Download.Com: Free MP3 Music Downloads – Download.com features 11,502 MP3 songs that are free for download. This is a good way to find some new music and load up your iPod.

8. SongBird: Open Source Music Player – Songbird allows you to create dynamic playlists, find upcoming concerts in your area, integrate Last.Fm, use add-ons, and stream music using the Shoutcast Radio directory.

9. Deezer – Deezer provides free and legal music by providing artists and rights owners with a share of their advertising revenue. You can pick music you want to listen to in one click, access themed radio stations, browse smart radios, get information on artists, share your playlists, help discover new talent & download your own MP3s.

10. Lala – Lala allows you to play over 6 million songs for free, upload tracks to your Lala collection, get a feed for music recommendations and you can also purchase music from this site. Lala matches the songs on your computer to Lala’s licensed catalog. Songs you already have and playlists you’ve created are instantly added to your Lala collection free. The number of songs you can add is unlimited. Play and share your music, anywhere on the web.

11. Mix Turtle – Mix Turtle is a site that enables you to search for, play and add songs to a playlist.

12. Favtape – Favtape is all about the mixtapes. It creates a mixtape from sites such as Pandora and Last.fm. You can also purchase the song, see the lyrics, etc.

13. DJ Riko – At DJ Riko, you’ll find some quality free downloadable mashups and remixes. They even have Christmas mixes.

14. Yahoo! Music – Yahoo! Music provides a variety of music services, including Internet radio, music videos, news, artist information, and original programming.

15. Mozart – With this site, you can download all of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s MP3s free and legally.

16. BeeMp3 – BeeMp3 is a music search engine for locating mp3 files on the net. They don’t host files, but search & index. They have 800,000 mp3s in their database.

17. Free Information Society – This site provides historical speeches, sound clips and events in MP3 format. You can listen and download audio from Edison, Einstein, Robert Frost, Hank Aaron, Bush and many more historical audio clips.


18. MP3 Realm – Mp3Realm is another music search engine that looks for MP3s. You can search for your favorite songs and clips, and filter them out by file duration. Your searches can be based on artist, title, genre or album. Mp3Realm also index’s lyrics.

19. Media Convert: Free and Online Converter – Media Convert is a tool that converts almost any audio, video, presentation, document, spreadsheet files. It’s free and no registration or downloads are needed.

20. Free Sound – The Freesound Project is a database of Creative Commons licensed sounds. The focus is on sounds, as opposed to music. You can browse sounds by keywords, upload and download sounds to and from the database & interact with other users.

21. iSpeech: Read with Your Ears – This site is amazing! You can use it to convert your favorite sites to audio and throw it on your iPod. You can also give your blog readers the option to listen to your blog, convert any document to audio or simply type something in and throw the embedded code onto your blog.

22. BigBook Search – BigBook Search lets you search for Music, Books and DVDs by their cover art. If you find something that interests you, you can click on the cover and it will direct your to Amazon to purchase.
