If you like this posting, be sure to check out the two posts I’ve utilized within this 5-series post are my Best Sites by Genre and Top 10 Sites to Watch Free TV Online and Watch Free Movies Online. To find more than 85 free movie sites, take a look at FREE Movie Sites A-Z.

1. Quick Silver Screen – 21,000+ videos online. Known for having the rare, hard to find episodes. 2 out of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: I hate that this site relies primarily on Megavideo, which will cut you off after an hour or so and either request you to pay for registration or make you wait another 90 minutes or so before continuing. The design is good and the functionality is sufficient, but I was frustrated to browse through many shows that were listed, but had no links. Not a site I can personally recommend. 2.5 Stars

QuickSilverscreen

2. Hulu – Growing at a rapid pace with several networks joining forces. I’m a big Hulu fan. High quality and depth. 5 out of 5 success rate. Rated Best Site to Watch TV Shows and #2 Site to Watch TV and Movies. My Thoughts: Hulu really is awesome. It’s extremely fast, very visually appealing, the video quality  and the Hulu video player is high quality and the content is outstanding. The only negative about the site is the commercials. Many videos give you a choice of an extended commercial break (1 minute or so) or your content with regular commercials. 5 Stars

Hulu

3. Alluc – Large categorized collection of movies & tv shows. 2 out of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: Alluc has an extensive amount of categorized links, which I like. What I’m not so fond on is some getting directed and redirected to MegaVideo and many other external sites. Sure this is how many video sites work, but I have to subtract points for this. The site is also a bit slow and the design and functionality are average. 2.5 Stars

Alluc

4. Asian Horror Movies – Outstanding site to watch Genre-Specific Asian Horror Movies. Rated Best Site to Watch Asian Movies. 5 out of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: Though it’s a niche site, I’m quite fond of this site. The design and functionality could use a bit of improvement, but the high quality content and widescreen video player makes it quite appealing. Click on a movie and you’ll get a synopsis and video player on one page. No unecessary clicks, besides an occasional ad. The one improvement I’d really like to see is a good search method from the home page. 4 Stars

Asian-Horror-Movies

5. Openflv - The videos are high quality, but I didn’t have much success with Openflv. The library is also very small. 0 out of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: Easy site to use, but it’s very slow to load and to execute and functions. A few page load errors later, I was so frustrated that I doubt I’ll be back. The site needs a complete overhaul. 1 Star

OpenFLV

6. Joox – This site streams videos of all genres. 3 out of 5 success rate. My thoughts: I like the design, but would like to see a search method on the home page. I like that the site has its own video player on the site, but wish the success rate was a little higher. The video quality looked to be average. 3 Stars

Joox

7. My Movies - Directory of over 4000 movies, tv shows and cartoons. Rated #9 Top Site to Watch TV and Movies. 3 out of 5 success rate. When I initially did my Top Site list, I really liked MyMovies. The design is just ok, but it’s quick and provides its own popup video player. I really like the rating system for each link, but now many of the links seemed to be rated lower than I would have hoped. Looking at the site now, I found that I was quite frustrated. As I browsed and attempted to watch, I commonly got a “Premium Content Area” warning, prompting me to take a quiz to unlock and watch. This site will be bounced out of my next top 10 list. 3 Stars

MyMovies

8. Joost - Over 40K tv shows, m ovies and music videos in their library. 5 out of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: I like the site design and functionality. They also have a search function from the front page, which I like. The biggest complaint I have is the commercials, which air prior to you watching your video. I really like the video player on their page and the videos look to be of high quality. 4 Stars

Joost

9. Channelchooser - 3464+ Channels to watch live television online. 5 of 5 success rate. My Thoughts: This is a very handy site to have. The design and functionality is pretty good. The way it works is you choose a channel, i.e. Home TV, then select a channel category, located below the video player. Once you select the category, scroll down to see all the listed channels. Each channel streams. The channels seem kind of too low on the page, but the video player and content are of high quality. My biggest complaint is the commercial at the beginning of each channel.  4 Stars

ChannelChooser

10. Freetube – Features 435 live streaming TV Channels in categories such as Movies, Sports, Educational, Entertainment, etc. Rated #8 Overall Top Site to Watch TV & Movies. 5 out of 5 success rate. My thoughts: Below average design, but the site is very cool and features countless channels of live streaming television programming. It streams quickly and provides a video player, directly on the site. 4.5 Stars

Some sites – like Hulu – aren’t available for people outside of the US :(

  11. Brian says:

Hopefully most of these sites will start to realize the demand in other countries.

Thanks for the other sites. The more we are aware of, the better.

  12. J Michael Osborne says:

Just as a note, Hulu does usually require a membership if the content you’re watching is TV-MA, like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

    Don’t forget http://SurfTheChannel.com

  14. Scott says:

I find that there are issues will most of the sites listed in this post…like having to be in US for Hulu etc.

Surf the Channel is one my favorites for TV shows. My favorite for movies is definately – watch-movies dot net – just watch out for links that are on Chinese based servers like YouKu…they are real slow. Most of the other links are google and megavideo and work great.

For documentaries, you may like to check out my site – Online Documentaries 4 U.

  15. Brian says:

Great recommendations guys. I’ve added part 4, thanks to your input.

Also, better navigational links have been added.

    Thanks again,
    Brian

  16. FuzzEeLogiCk says:

if you have problems accessing Hulu outside of the US (or any other IP blocking site for that matter) you can easily get around it by installing an ip masking software on your computer…try Hotspot Shield

  17. Billobob says:

some good ones. I really liked hulu and free tube and surfthechannel to be the best ones. 13-20 were pretty much just the end of the rung.

  32. - says:

    I’ve been using http://www.tvokay.com
No registration required and has lots of movies and series.
The new “layout” has less movies than the old though, so hover your mouse over “video channels”-button and click “old tvokay” if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

  33. Dwight says:

Try http://www.ovguide.com, it is directory for tons of free online video sites. They even categorize them and have user ratings. Check it out!!

The other major plus to hulu is that its totally legal…

    • La Mirabelle says:

Yes but only national. Other websites work everywhere. That's a serious flaw.

      • Hi La Mirabelle,
Actually if you use an IP Masking tool, such as Hotspot Shield that I mentioned, this is a good workaround. There are others, but Hotspot Shield is one of the better tools. Let me know if you need more tools to utilize these sites.

  44. Brian says:

Yep, Hulu is legal, but many of the other sites are as well. Hulu is a step above most. Thanks for stopping by.

  45. Anonymous says:

http://www.shareyourdownload.com. This website is amazing with both download and video streaming links.

  46. Brian says:

    Excellent, thanks for sharing.

  47. Anonymous says:

Sweet post! Great list of places to watch movies online. May I suggest adding my relatively new project and future ‘Watch Movies’ dominator: http://www.flickwatch.net – I’d love it if I were included! We’ve got over 4,500 active watchable links up already and growing daily.

  48. Brian says:

Sure, thanks for the feedback. I stopped at 50, but have so many additional sites that were recommended, I may have to do a Part Deux. If I do, I will definitely consider your site for the listing. Thanks for the recommendation. Good luck with the site.

    Brian

  49. La Mirabelle says:

Nice but your post seems to be intended for US visitors only I guess since you didn't mention that some of these don't work outside of the US like Hulu. You should make an international list too. :)
